From the New Mexico Watchdog –

By Jim Scarantino on March 11, 2010

“The job being the spokesperson for Lt. Gov. Diane Denish must be very, very tough. She is now onto her ninth public information officer is less than eight years. That’s a little more than one new spokesperson per year.

On November 25, 2009, Sam Thompson resigned as Denish’s seventh PIO. Early this year, James Hallinan, who worked for former Albuquerque mayor Martin Chavez, was hired to fill the slot. Today, when New Mexico Watchdog called to speak with Mr. Hallinan, we were informed he was no longer with the Lt. Governor’s office. We were referred to her new PIO, Eric Vasquez.

What accounts for this high turnover in Denish’s staff? She has also gone through quite a few chiefs of staff in her two terms. We count at least four. Maybe more. You’ve got to wonder if Denish is that hard to work for, or whether she just has had bad luck in picking people. Or maybe she’s a poor judge of character. Or maybe there’s some other explanation altogether.”

I wouldn’t suggest you put your life savings into a quick move to New Mexico.
