The Fire PIO was created to form a community of Public Information Officers who can share thoughts and ideas as well as learn new techniques. The blog focuses in on issues of public relations, social media, marketing, policy, SOP’s, fire ground responsibilities, relevant new product reviews and media outreach.
We welcome any seasoned fire service Public Information Officer who wishes to post and become an integral part of the community.

Just discovered this site. Excellent idea. I am a volunteer firefighter, but a professional media relations person, so I handle the media duties for the two companies in my District. Looking forward to some interesting discussions.
