A lot of what we do as PIO’s is based on standard formula and template. If we are sending out releases and working with the press at an incident scene we are pretty much like baseball umpires, calling them as we see them. There is no room for embellishment or spin in our line of work. This is one of the aspects of our job that we should be thankful for when we look at the alternatives, like choosing sleazoid PR as a career specialty.
In the world of sleaze PR, both Fox and TMZ are reporting that the equally as sleazy Mel Gibson’s ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva wants him to pay her PR bills. She allegedly spent $84,000 in PR and legal fees to as Fox reports, “thwart public perception that she sold secret tapes.” The story goes on to say that Grigorieva is claiming that she felt she was “getting trashed in the media.”
TMZ sources say Grigorieva felt hiring PR reps was the only way to counter someone as big and powerful as Mel Gibson.
I pity how the child of these two creeps is going to grow up. Hopefully if she goes into PR it will be of the pure type

For the worst of the sleaze & spin, we only need to read, watch or listen to ANY political ad. I should know. I used to produce lots of political direct mail. (Have been thoroughly dis-infected since, though.)
Sleaze from Fox and TMZ? Who knew?
And ” PR of the pure type” is impossible. PR pros are in the business of telling their clients story to favorably influence their target audiences. Truth is secondary.
